Kensington Park’s Maple Beach was full of runners and walkers alike for the 30th annual Kensington Challenge road race. Team “Huszti Dental Care” turned out in force to participate and help raise funds for local youth fitness and the wounded warriors project. Check out the results here.

Dr. Huszti is quick to point out “ The Kensington Challenge showcases fitness and family fun. It’s sends an important message throughout our community.” Huszti dental care is a proud sponsor of the Kensington Challenge. A special thank you to race director, patient and good friend Doug Goodhue for another great event. Thanks Doug!

Cavities don't stand a chance!

Kim & Sue do it all. With over 30 years of combined service to Huszti Dental Care they are an important part of the Team that keeps our patients smiling. When they’re not busy with patient care they like to do a little modeling. Case in point: our new marketing piece “cavities don’t stand a chance” features our two favorite dental assistants.

With all that Kim and Sue do at our practice it got us thinking. If we had to detail their job description what would it look like?

Many thanks to graphic artist Peter Moreau for his wit & creativity -

Staff spotlight: Sue's 10 year anniversary

Where did the time go? It’s hard to believe Sue is celebrating a decade of service with Huszti Dental Care.  As Dr. Chong’s primary dental assistant she has cared for thousands of patients. Sue is a natural and has that special touch to make her patients comfortable. It’s not unusual to hear laughter coming from Sue’s room throughout the day. Her connection with her patients is hard to miss.

Often times patients will linger well past their appointment time to continue their conversations. It takes a special person to make it fun to go to visit the dentist. We’re proud to work with Sue!

Staff appreciation: spa day

We’re proud of our team. It takes a special group of professionals to make it fun to go to the dentist. That’s why we take every opportunity to let our staff know how much we appreciate them.  This years festivities began at Lelli’s restaurant in Novi. After a wonderful lunch the party continued at Vision’s spa with a massage and pampering at Vision’s spa.

How appropriate to offer the team that pampers our patients the opportunity to be on the receiving end!

We're Wearing Pink!

The team at Huszti Dental Care choose to recognize “Breast Cancer Awareness Day” by wearing pink. We’re celebrating the recovery of many of our patients and staff who have been touched by this disease.  We’re all pulling for research and the road toward a cure! Our thanks to Kim C. for organizing this staff event.

American Cancer Society Guidelines for the Early Detection of Cancer

The American Cancer Society recommends these screening guidelines for most adults.

Breast cancer

  • Yearly mammograms are recommended starting at age 40 and continuing for as long as a woman is in good health
  • Clinical breast exam (CBE) about every 3 years for women in their 20s and 30s and every year for women 40 and over
  • Women should know how their breasts normally look and feel and report any breast change promptly to their health care provider. Breast self-exam (BSE) is an option for women starting in their 20s.

Some women – because of their family history, a genetic tendency, or certain other factors – should be screened with MRI in addition to mammograms. (The number of women who fall into this category is small: less than 2% of all the women in the US.) Talk with your doctor about your history and whether you should have additional tests at an earlier age.

For more information, call the American Cancer Society and ask for our document called Breast Cancer: Early Detection.

Kensington Challenge

More than 500 people of all ages responded to the “challenge” this year crowding Kensington Park’s Maple Beach for the 29th annual Kensington Challenge road race. Team “Huszti Dental Care” turned out in force to participate and help raise funds for local youth fitness and the wounded warriors project.

Staff spotlight: Your Hygienist & Ballerina Raquel

Huszti Dental- Hygienist Ballerina
When it comes to patient care the Team at Huszti Dental is passionate. Those same feelings follow us into our hobbies after hours too. Take your hygienist Raquel. Few know she was classically trained as a ballet dancer and very good!

Recently she and her children appeared in the Young People’s Ballet Theatre’s (YPBT) production of the ballet, Cinderella, at the University of Michigan-Flint Theatre.

We are proud of Raquel and her contribution to the Arts and the Community. Thanks Raquel!

Seminar & Extraordinary Patient Service

staff seminar GM building, Huszti dental, Milford Michigan dentist

Continuing education is an important compliment to quality dental care. To that end the doctors and staff attended the “Detroit Dental Review” convention in Detroit on Friday November 20,2009. The seminar “Achieving Extraordinary service” presented by featured speaker Mrs. Rosemary Bray was fun and informative.

The staff all agreed patient service and satisfaction is an important part of what we do. The days learning will be put to good use. At the next team meeting staff will present their best ideas and discussion to follow. Want to join a team meeting? We value your input and would be pleased to pass on your best ideas too!

The Oral & System connection: Health Conference

On Wednesday, December. 3, 2008 Dr.’s Huszti & Chong attended a symposium at the Rock Financial Showplace, Novi

The "2008 System Health Conference" following in December at the Diamond Center/Rock Financial Showplace in Novi.

oral & systemic health- sold out

2008 Systemic Health Conference (SOLD OUT!)
Our understanding of the link between oral and systemic health has increased rapidly in recent years. However, physicians and dentists are rarely provided with an opportunity to discuss the oral-systemic link. The goal of this symposium is to discuss prospective research linking oral health with systemic health, using formal presentations, audience participation and panel discussions. Sessions will examine the oral/systemic link in cardiac disease, diabetes, and adverse outcomes during pregnancy.

Huszti Dental Alumnus Jenny

A final session on policy and education will deal with current and future mechanisms to improve communication, collaboration and education regarding these interlinking fields of health care. To conclude each session there will be a formal panel discussion with audience participation. This will generate real-time responses from participants and will foster communication to enhance the learning experience.

Relay for life & team Huszti Dental

Team Huszti Dental

This May, the American Cancer Society is holding an event that is not just fun, it’s a way to make a difference. And we’d like you to join us.

Relay For Life, a 2-day event designed to bring together those touched by cancer, is scheduled for May 3-4. It’s a way to celebrate survivors, remember the lives cancer took and fight back against the disease that affects too many lives.

relay for life

The event is a fund-raiser during which participants gather at schools, fairgrounds or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Last year dental assistant Kim and hygienist Tammi took part. This year, Kim and assistant Sue are co-captains for our office team. We’re further energized by the hard work of patients Ellie Kreig and her mom, Donna Gundle-Kreig who have assumed leadership roles to make this years event a success. We’re dedicating this year’s efforts to friends, family and patients who know the pain of the disease.

Don’t think you can walk or run? That’s OK, the American Cancer Society says the real point of the event is to come together, connect with others who know cancer’s toll and raise awareness about the fight against cancer.

relay for life

Call our office to join our team or for more information. We can make a difference together.

Staff education

The staff is constantly updating its skills.  That’s why the entire staff became re-certified in CPR late last year. The doctor's decided to arrange for the course to be taught on the premises this year too.

Community support- Rotary fundraiser

The Rotary Club is a great local organization that helps improve the Milford area. That’s why the entire staff attended a wine tasting fundraiser. The money raised goes right back to the community. The Rotary will hold its wine tasting May 17 at Bakers of Milford. Just contact the Milford Rotary club. You’ll not be disappointed.

Staff Appreciation

staff appreciation

We’re not just co-workers at the practice, we’re friends, too. So to show our appreciation to the staff we closed down the hip Milford shoe store Goody 2 Shoes and enjoyed dessert and coffee while the ladies checked out the shoes. Everyone had a lot of fun.
